Origin

Kikusen-ji Temple was built over 350 years ago.
The old record was burned down by the fire in Kaei 3 (1850), when we investigated the documents we found out some written papers remained.
Around the 15th year of "Tensho period", there is one record that a person named Koun Soeki enshrined "Yakushi Nyorai" in the northeastern area of the village and called it Yakushido.
Even before the completion of the Sakou land readjustment project in 1938, there was a historic site in the same area of the town, which was called the "Yakushi field", and it seems that the land was owned by the Yakushido.
Later, around the 6th year of Kanbun (1666), Motohiro Enshu and chief priest Korin-genbyo (II of Kikusen-ji) built one temple in the center of the village and Enshrined "Yakushi Nyorai".
This was the beginning of Kikusen-ji Temple.
During the Genroku period, the eleven-faced Kannon Bodhisattva and Jizo-son were donated by Mr.Ito Jirozaemon of Nagoya City, and we made the eleven-faced Kannon Bodhisattva the principal image.
In addition, it was completely destroyed by the Owari Earthquake on October 28, 1891 and the main hall and so on was rebuilt in 1899.
